Best Suno Alternatives in 2026: 8 Tools Compared

Looking for a Suno alternative? Compare 8 AI music tools on vocals, free plans, prices and commercial rights, plus what changed with Suno downloads in 2026.

ToSongToSong Team

If you are searching for a Suno alternative in 2026, the reason is usually one of three things: the new download limits, the subscription needed for the best v6 models, or the way v6 sounds. Which of those applies to you decides which alternative makes sense, so this guide sorts the options by what you actually need rather than ranking them on a single score.

A note on where we stand: ToSong, the site you are reading this on, runs Suno's own v6 models behind pay-per-song credits. We include it below because it addresses the first two of those reasons, and we say plainly that it does not change the third.

Suno Alternatives at a Glance

Prices and limits are taken from each tool's official pages where they are published, as of late September 2026. They change often, so confirm them before you pay.

Why People Are Looking for a Suno Alternative Now

Downloads got much tighter. Since September 3, 2026, free Suno accounts can barely download anything: accounts created before that date keep a lifetime total of 7 downloads for personal, non-commercial use, and newer free accounts only receive occasional trial downloads. Paid plans are capped too, at 20 downloads a month on Pro and 60 on Premier. Downloads on paid plans include commercial rights; free downloads do not. These limits came out of Suno's November 2025 settlement with Warner Music Group. The free plan itself still exists, with 50 credits a day on v6 Mini.

The best models sit behind a subscription. Suno released the v6 family on September 9, 2026. v6 and v6 Wild are for Pro and Premier subscribers; free accounts get v6 Mini. Pro is listed at $8 a month and Premier at $24 a month when billed yearly. Our Suno v6 guide covers how the three versions differ.

Some creators dislike the v6 sound. Some users on forums such as Reddit describe v6 as sounding muffled compared with earlier versions. If this is your reason, you need a different model, not a different way of paying for the same one.

The Best Suno AI Alternatives in 2026

Apps similar to Suno AI include Mureka, ElevenLabs Music and Google Flow Music for songs with vocals, and Soundraw or Beatoven.ai for instrumentals. Each entry below was operating as of September 2026, with what it does well and where it falls short.

1. ToSong: Suno v6 without a subscription

ToSong gives you Suno's v6, v6 Wild and v6 Mini through its own interface, where they are labelled Balanced, Creative and Fast. Every generation costs the same 20 credits and returns two tracks, whichever version you choose. A $10 credit pack buys 800 credits, which is 40 generations or 80 tracks, and pack credits stay valid for 365 days. Every track you generate can be downloaded, with no monthly download cap. New accounts get 20 free credits, enough for one generation (two tracks) on any of the three models. Tracks made on a paid plan or credit pack include commercial usage rights.

What it does not do: ToSong is text-first. You write a description or paste your own lyrics, then set the style, vocals and a few advanced options. Suno's own app features, such as section editing, mashups, audio or image prompts and Max Mode, are not available, and you cannot set the track length. Because the models are the same, ToSong will not change the v6 sound. If that sound is your problem, skip to the next entries.

Good for: people who like Suno's v6 results but make songs occasionally and do not want a monthly plan. You can start with the AI song generator on our home page or bring finished words to the lyrics to song generator.

2. Mureka

Mureka, from Kunlun Tech, covers much the same ground as Suno: full songs with vocals and lyrics, plus instrumentals, stem downloads and, on Pro, voice cloning. Its workflow puts lyrics first, which suits people who write words before music. The Basic plan is $8 a month when billed yearly, and Mureka states that full commercial rights start at Basic.

Limitation: the size of the free allowance is not published, and Mureka does not disclose how its training data is licensed.

3. ElevenLabs Music

ElevenLabs, best known for voice AI, now offers ElevenLabs Music for songs with vocals or instrumentals, including editing and inpainting of sections. A separate iOS app, ElevenMusic, launched on April 1, 2026. The free tier gives 11 minutes of music a month without downloads or commercial use. The Starter plan at $6 a month allows commercial use, but releasing tracks on streaming services requires the Creator plan or higher, and film, radio and game use is reserved for Enterprise.

Limitation: the licensing tiers are detailed but take some reading before you publish anything.

4. Google Flow Music (formerly ProducerAI and Riffusion)

If you have seen "Producer AI" or "Riffusion" mentioned, this is the same product. Riffusion became ProducerAI, Google acquired it in early 2026, and it relaunched as Google Flow Music in April 2026. It runs on Google's Lyria 3.5 model and focuses on a conversational workflow: generate a song, then replace or extend sections, split stems or make a music video. The free plan refills credits daily, and Starter costs $6 a month.

Limitation: the official pricing page does not spell out commercial terms for each plan, so check before using tracks in paid work.

5. Gemini app with Lyria 3.5

Since September 4, 2026, the Gemini app can generate songs with vocals or instrumentals up to three minutes long, including music inspired by an uploaded image. It is available to users aged 18 and over, and every track carries a SynthID watermark.

Limitation: three minutes is the maximum, and Google has not published usage limits or commercial terms for Gemini music.

6. MusicGPT

MusicGPT bundles song generation with sound effects, text-to-speech, remixing, extending, adding vocals or accompaniment to your own audio, and stem splitting. The free plan includes 500 credits a month, but each download costs 50 credits and comes as MP3 only. The Plus plan is $9.99 a month billed yearly, with unlimited downloads and commercial use.

Limitation: the free plan is better for testing than for regular use because of the per-download cost.

7. Soundraw

Soundraw generates instrumentals and beats rather than sung songs. The Creator plan is $16.99 a month, or $11.04 a month billed yearly, with unlimited MP3 downloads and commercial use in content, but distributing tracks to streaming services requires the Artist plans.

Limitation: there are no AI vocals, so it replaces Suno only if you mostly made instrumentals.

8. Beatoven.ai

Beatoven.ai composes background music and sound effects for videos and podcasts with its own model. Each download comes with a non-exclusive perpetual licence for monetized video and audio content, which makes the rights situation easy to document.

Limitation: it does not make songs with vocals.

Open-source options

If you have a capable GPU, two open models are worth knowing:

  • ACE-Step 1.5 (MIT licence) generates songs from 10 seconds to 10 minutes with lyrics in more than 50 languages. The base model runs in under 4 GB of VRAM; the larger XL model needs at least 12 GB of VRAM with CPU offloading, or about 20 GB without it.
  • YuE2 has Apache-2.0 code but CC BY-NC 4.0 weights. Individuals and musicians may monetize outputs, while companies need a separate licence. It expects Linux and an NVIDIA GPU with 24 GB of VRAM.

Running models locally avoids subscriptions and download caps, but setup, hardware and output quality are all on you.

What About Udio?

Udio still operates, but it is hard to recommend as a Suno alternative right now. After settling with Universal Music Group in October 2025, it switched off all downloads, and the licensed platform it announced has not launched. It also settled with Warner Music Group on November 19, 2025. Its official changelog has not listed a new release since January 2026.

Suno vs Udio: Which Is Better?

For most people in 2026, Suno. Paid Suno users can download and commercially use their songs, within the monthly caps, and the v6 models are brand new. Udio has disabled downloads since October 29, 2025, so for now you can create and listen on the platform but cannot download your tracks.

Is Suno Being Sued?

Yes. Suno settled with Warner Music Group in November 2025 and announced partnerships with BMG (August 12, 2026) and Believe (September 8, 2026), but Sony Music and Universal Music Group are still suing. In September 2026, according to Variety and Digital Music News, the two labels filed a new suit in Massachusetts federal court targeting the v6 models; Suno described it as "fundamentally flawed." In July 2026 a Munich court ruled that Suno had infringed GEMA's rights, and a case brought by Denmark's Koda is ongoing. Suno remains available while these cases continue, and its current download limits stem from the Warner settlement rather than from a court ruling.

Is There Anything Better Than Suno AI?

Not across the board. Mureka, ElevenLabs Music and Google Flow Music are the strongest options for songs with vocals, and each takes a different approach, from Mureka's lyrics-first writing to Flow Music's conversational editing. Which one is better for you depends on why you are leaving Suno.

How to Choose the Right Suno Alternative
